50 miles and 17,395 feet total ascent
| Having booked a cottage in the grounds of Irton
Hall, Sheila and I set out to tick a few more
Wainwrights off her list. Our walking was to be centred
around Wasdale and Ennerdale, making the most of short
travelling distances on this more inaccessible side of
the Lake District. We had been hoping for better weather
than the forecasts suggested but the mixture of wind,
rain and mist didn't dampen our enthusiasm - even though
it may have dampened other parts! |
